Getting your FFL website ready for the holiday season
A short checklist for independent gun dealers before Black Friday: stock you can actually ship, clear transfer instructions, hours, holds, and a plan for sold-out items.

The last weeks of the year are when a lot of buyers shop for gifts, and many of them start online. Most of the work that pays off happens before the rush, not during it. Here is what to check in the next few weeks.
Make sure what you show is what you can sell
- Stock counts that come from your distributors through the day, not a file you uploaded in the summer.
- Allocated items treated as unavailable, so a buyer does not pay for a gun nobody has.
- Prices that stay at or above the manufacturer minimum advertised price (MAP) when distributors run promotions.
Answer the questions buyers call about
- Your transfer fee and what the buyer brings to pick up.
- Holiday hours, including the days you are closed.
- How long you hold an item after it arrives.
- Whether you offer gift cards or layaway, and how they work.
Every question your site answers is a phone call you do not have to take while the counter is busy. State rules vary, so link to your state’s official guidance rather than paraphrasing it.
Plan for the item that sells out
Popular gifts go out of stock. Decide ahead of time what a buyer sees when that happens: hide the item, or show it with a way to be told when it is back. A hold request is another option for a buyer who wants to talk before paying.
ArmoryFlow storefronts hide out-of-stock items by default, with a setting to show them, and can collect back-in-stock alerts and hold requests for you to follow up on.
Give people a reason to come back
Put your holiday hours and any in-store events on your homepage, and post them where your customers already follow you. A short, regular update keeps your shop in front of buyers who are not ready the first time they visit.
